Based on Note 1, Article 8 of the statute of Central Securities Depository of Iran, 525,000,000 shares belonging to the Securities and Exchanges Organization are preferred shares, giving the SEO the privilege that three out of five members of the CSDI Board of Directors elected at Annual General Meetings are always from the SEO candidates.
According to Article 55 of The Securities Market Act of the Islamic Republic of Iran, enacted in December 2005, no real or legal shareholder is allowed to have in possession, whether directly or indirectly, over 5 percent of the shares of Central Securities Depository of Iran.
