CSDI Introduces New Mechanism for Internal Committees

CSDI improves its committees structure by implementing a new mechanism to govern their operations.

Central Securities Depository of Iran (CSDI) has gone through a significant overhaul of its committee structure, implementing a new mechanism to govern the operations of various committees within the organization. This decision is part of the first phase of a Board of Directors (BoD) Secretariat project aimed at streamlining the company’s structure and clarifying the objectives and executive processes of its committees.

Under the new mechanism, committees are categorized into two main groups: BoD Committees and Executive Committees. The Executive Committees will be supervised by the CSDI CEO or a designated representative, while the BoD Committees will be overseen by the BoD Secretariat.

Executive Committees

Several key committees have been identified under the Executive Committee category, including:

  • Strategic Planning Council
  • Committee of International Business Development
  • Committee for Devising and Revising Regulations
  • Recruitment Committee
  • Trading Committee
  • Committee on Review and Improvement of Company's Trading
  • Disciplinary Committee
  • Navigating Committee on Data Security

Notably, the Loan Committee has been disbanded, with its functions being integrated into existing processes to enhance operational efficiency.

BoD Committees

The BoD Committees will consist of:

  • Audit Committee
  • Risk Management Committee
  • Committee on Appointments and Service Compensation
  • IT Committee
  • Committee on Risk Monitoring for Collaterals
  • Committee on Securities Trading Settlement Guarantee Fund
  • Premises Committee

The BoD Secretariat will oversee the activities of these committees, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives.

Goals of the New Mechanism

CSDI emphasizes that the new mechanism is designed to create a more efficient and effective committee structure. This framework ensures that committees operate within defined boundaries and contribute meaningfully to the company’s overall performance. It is also important to note that intra-unit working groups and process-based activities that do not fall under the purview of committees will not be subject to this new mechanism.

Overall, these changes reflect CSDI's commitment to enhancing governance and operational efficiency within its organizational structure, fostering a more effective environment for decision-making and strategic development.
