CSDI Report Finds CIGS-Registered Shareholders Increase During Spring 2024
The number of shareholders that registered into CIGS reached 46 million 184 thousand 948 during spring 2024.
The number of shareholders that registered into the homegrown e-KYC platform of Central Securities Depository of Iran (CSDI) increased by 260,548,000 during spring 2024, and reached 46 million 184 thousand 948, according to the most recent CSDI Report.
According to the same report published at the end of the first quarter of the Persian calendar year, which marked 21 March-21 June, 2024, the number of CIGS-registered shareholders whose identities have been authenticated via the system rose from 38,899,680 to 39,147,903.
The increase is a milestone for the CSDI as the main infrastructure provider for the whole Iranian capital market, since the figure is reaching close to the total number of active accounts.
CIGS is a sophisticated infrastructure which provides a wealth of value-added services to stockholders and – on a broader perspective - to the whole capital market.
The system aims to contribute to the principle of transparency in the capital market, since all the stockholders need to register and fill out the relative forms once and for all. Therefor from then on they will have access to all the services and entities in the capital market needless of registering again and again.
