CSDI Announces New Vice President for Legal Affairs
Central Securities Depository of Iran has appointed Alireza Torabi as vice president for legal affairs.
Alireza Torabi is replacing Farzaneh Yari, who had held the position for 4 years.
He joined Central Securities Depository of Iran in 2014 and previously served as CSDI's legal services director since 2020.
The main responsibilities of his office are to establish and operate systems for registration, depository, custody and clearing of all the trades in the Iranian exchanges, act as an intermediary and agent in securities lending and borrowing, preparation and delivery of the reports required by brokerage firms and providing specialized services to the stock exchanges, commodity exchanges, issuers of securities, financial institutions and other participants of the market.
Torabi is currently a member of the "Special Committee of Verifications" and "Committee on Developing and Launching Comprehensive Legal Operations System" at CSDI. He also enjoys membership in two committees of "Law Graduates Society" and the "Islamic Law studies Group".
He sees the experience of teaching "Islamic Law" in a number of Iranian higher-education institutions in his resume and is considered an expert in Islamic Jurisprudence, and capital market laws.
Alireza Torabi holds a Master's degree in law and is fluent in Arabic and English.
