SEBA Hosts a Consensus Meeting between CSDI, Member Brokerage Firms to Discuss Mutually Related Challenges

Securities Exchange Brokers Association hosts a consensus meeting between senior officials of Central Securities Depository of Iran and representatives of SEBA member brokerage firms.

A consensus meeting has been held with senior officials of Central Securities Depository of Iran and representatives of brokerage firms in attendance.

Chief Executive Officer of Central Securities Depository of Iran, Mohammad Baghestani, chaired a meeting with representatives of brokerage firms on Tuesday 13 February, 2024 at the Securities Exchange Brokers Association (SEBA) headquarters in Tehran.

During the meeting moderated by SEBA Secretary General, Azim Sabet, the brokers raised their concerns and issues with the CEO, deputies and senior managers of Central Securities Depository of Iran on a vast range of issues including various mutual topics related to the brokerage and the depository industry such as the collateral management system, reporting on hybrid symbols for brokers, Options Contract securities, proxy accounts, settlement, group account freeze, aggregation of fees, etc.

Secretary General of the Securities Exchange Brokers Association, Azim Sabet, who moderated the session urged for more effective collaboration between CSDI and SEBA in a bid to alleviate the challenges faced in the depository and brokerage industry to develop their potential through convergence. 

The Securities Exchange Brokers Association aims to resolve existing complications in the brokerage industry through holding a series of such meetings between brokers membering the Association and the senior officials in charge of the main pillars of the capital market i.e. Central Securities Depository of Iran, Tehran Stock Exchange, Iran FaraBourse, etc.
