CSDI Delegates attend 24th ACG general assembly meeting in Busan, S Korea
The 24th General Assembly Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Central Securities Depository (CSD) Group (ACG) convened in Busan, South Korea on November 7-10, 2022.
The annual event returned this year after two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, hosted by Korea Securities Depository (KSD).
The ACG General Meetings are great opportunities to facilitate discussion among members and prepare the ground to elect new Executive Committee members during next year's General Assembly meeting.
Central Securities Depository of Iran was represented by its chief executive officer, deputy CEO, chairman and international relations director at this event. The CSDI delegates tapped into potential of the opportunity to introduce and promote the latest achievements and developments going on at CSDI.
During the three-day gathering, the delegates of the 24th ACG General Meeting were grouped into panels and task forces to discuss capital market developments and important issues.
The Task Forces covered various fields including Information Exchange that was led by Japan Securities Depository Center (JASDEC), Legal which was held by China Securities Depository and Clearing Corporation (CSDC), New Business Initiative which was led by Korea Securities Depository (KSD), Technical initiated by National Settlement Depository Limited of India (NSDL), Risk and Recovery Management led by Central Depository Company (CDC) of Pakistan and Investor Services by Taiwan Depository and Clearing Corporation (TDCC).
The participants also attended two panel discussions with the themes of “Unprecedented Challenges and Creative Responses” and “Creating the Future, Driving Future-proof Innovation”.
During the event, Central Securities Depository of Iran briefed its fellow ACG members on the latest developments including CSDI's state-of-the-art services to the capital market stakeholders such as 'Setareh' Platform which is an electronic collateral management system.
Another important agenda for CSDI was a one-on-one meeting with representatives of Korea Securities Depository (KSD) during which the two sides reviewed the terms stipulated in the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Central Securities Depository of Iran and KSD back in 2013. They also raised the issues regarding joint projects and workshops in a bid to foster closer mutual relations between the two CSDs.
